ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & INCLUSION
Career bootcamps. Pop-up-to-permanent retail shops. Pathways to jobs.
At start-up nonprofits and inside corporate boardrooms, innovators throughout the city are exploring new ways to build community relationships, connect diverse populations, and create economic opportunity through effective workforce development initiatives.
At the Wilmington Alliance, we bring those innovators together to develop holistic strategies for the needs of the city and its emerging workforce.
We ask the questions: What worked? How did it work? And how can we do more?
We work to understand the social determinants of health – the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider forces shaping the conditions of their daily lives – and how those affect the economic health of our city. And then we connect our community and industry leaders with the best thinking available within that framework, to create truly inclusive economic plans for the future.
